Loughnatousa Yard

Situated in the tranquil setting of Tallow in County Waterford, Loughnatousa has become synonymous with the breeding and production of quality Irish sport horses. Using the best irish stallions and broodmares the Beecher family have maintained strong irish sport horse bloodlines which are highly sought across the world. Loughnatousa has a wide variety of horses, which includes show hunter's, seasoned fox hunters, eventers and show jumpers, all available for purchase. At Loughnatousa horses are carefully matched with customers based on each customer's' personal requirements. Our aim is to produce successful competition partners and beloved companions.

Loughnatousa is steeped in history having been established by Tim and Marian Beecher over 40 years ago. It was in Australia that Tim got his first taste of success when he turned out six winners before returning to Ireland to set up his own farm. He has since bred, bought, and trained numerous national and international horses and trained riders including his own children to the International levels. Tim built up this business from one horse, Black Tudor, that he point-to-pointed, hunted and show jumped. He sold him and that was the start of a wonderful story. Now working alongside his sons Paul, Mark and Tadgh, the business continues to grow, with champions in all equestrian disciplines.

All three sons, Mark Tadhg and Paul play an important role in the business and all play a vital role in the running of the stud farm. With each other's help they gone on to have phenomenal success in show jumping, producing young horses and racing. Tim’s daughters Diane and Fiona also played a pivotal role and have competed on Loughnatousa home breds up the young rider level. Although neither remain in the everyday running of the studfarm, they do play a role in the sales of Loughnatousa horses. The stud farm spans over 130 acres and is home to over 100 horses at any given time. Along with lush pasture, the stud farm consist of 45 stables, with 17 of them situated in an American style barn. The facilities include an indoor lunging ring, an indoor school, natural cross country fences a jumping paddock and a horse walker. Horses coming from Loughnatousa have international appeal throughout Europe and the United States with many going on to represent their countries in International competition with great success at events such as Badminton, Burghley, Rolex, and the World Games.
